Using AI for More Efficient Chat
SaleSmartly integrates three layers of AI in the Live Chat interface: Automated Bot, Automation Flows, and an AI Assistant for agents. This article explains how to set up and use each.
1. Automated Bot (Chatbot Hosting)
Enable the bot so it handles conversations according to pre-configured scenarios, freeing agents from repetitive questions.
- In the chat window, click the Robot icon.
- Select "Enable Bot" → the conversation switches to automated mode.
While the bot is active:
- Automation flows and bot FAQs are triggered
- Agents can monitor without constant notifications
- When the bot encounters a situation requiring a human, the conversation is automatically transferred to the team
2. Automation Flows
Create flows for predefined scenarios (greetings, data collection, catalog delivery, escalation…):
- Go to Bot → Automation Flows.
- Click "Create New Flow".
- Set up: Trigger → Filter Conditions → Actions.
- Triggers: first message, specific keyword, menu selection…
- Actions: send message, add tag, assign agent, close conversation…
- Connect the flow to a specific channel (WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok…).
- Enable the flow.
3. Bot Settings
Customize bot behavior in Settings → Bot:
- Bot Priority: bot serves first, agent follows
- Maintain Bot: bot stays active after agent leaves the conversation
- Input suggestions: show suggestions while agent is typing
- Auto-translation settings
4. AI Assistant for Agents
Unlike a chatbot, the AI Assistant helps agents directly while they chat:
- Change writing style (professional / friendly / concise)
- Text-to-voice (Voice Note)
- Smart reply suggestions based on recent message content
- Summarize the entire conversation in one click
Click the AI ✨ icon in the chat window to enable. Each use consumes AI character quota per your plan.
